Steel woven hexagonal wire mesh is used as a drapery system to prevent
rocks and debris from falling onto roads and railways.
The mesh consists of Zinc coated
double twisted steel woven wire in accordance
with EN10223-3. The wire used in the manufacture of the mesh is heavily galvanized zinc coated soft temper steel.
Due to the characteristics of
double twist, the steel wire mesh can withstand the force of the falling rocks without unraveling in the event of wire breakage.
The material of double twist hexagonal mesh can be designed as below.
Material:
Galfan wire(Zinc coating:200-300g/m2)
Hot dip galvanized+Pvc coated
Galfan wire+Pvc coated
Tensile strength:350-500n/m2
Elongation:10-15%
Due to their flexible nature, they are used mainly for river bank and scour protection, channel linings for eorison control and embankment stability. They are filled with rock at the project site(either in-situ or pre-filled and placed) to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures to promote the rapid growth of natural vegetation.
